Welcome to Baška Voda
We want you to enjoy the unique combination of sea and mountain, seasoned with our traditional hospitality and Dalmatian host temperament and to discover why so many visitors return to us year after year.
Baska Voda, a former village of farmers and fishermen, traders and seafarers, with the hard work of the householders was made into a modern tourist resort with all the capacities and features of a small Mediterranean town !
Relax and forget all the worries in the shade of palm and pine trees and take a nice walk along the sea. Breathe in the health with the full lungs and dive into the scents of rose on the pine needles, vine leaves, olive trees and palm trees, and discover why it is written that long ago that the sea brings a man back to life.
In Baška Voda you will enjoy a Mediterranean climate; a mild, mostly moist winter and a dry, hot and sunny summer. Average monthly temperatures are in July - air 24, 3 C°, - sea 25, 1 C° and in January: - air 8, 3 C°, - sea 13, 5 C°. Baška Voda has over 2,700 hours of sunshine a year and it is located in one of the sunniest areas of the northern Mediterranean. On average, more than 40 days a year, air temperatures are above 30 C°, and only 7 days below 0 C°.
Local and seasonal winds also help maintain favorable climate. The most pronounced among them are south (southeast wind) and bora (northeast wind), that blow throughout the year, but they are especially common during the winter months, when their bioclimatic activity is at its peak. During spring and summer the most specific wind is mistral, which brings a refreshing, and in the summer so desired chilled air. At night mistral is replaced with burin (a light northerly wind), which cools the overheated dry land.
